The source of foodpeculiar smell includes the odor of the packaging materials and the smells inthe external environment. Packaging of unqualified quality will cause the aboveissues:
1) The packagingmaterial itself has peculiar smell-if the solvent used in the productionprocess of the packaging material is not sufficiently volatilized, the residualsolvent will gradually migrate to the food after packaging the food, causingthe food to have peculiar smell; in addition, poor quality packaging materials,poor quality auxiliary ingredients or excessive addition of auxiliary ingredientswill also cause peculiar smell in the packaging of the finished products.
2) Poor barrierproperties - For example, if packaging materials have poor gas barrierproperties., when the food is stored in an inappropriate environment, the peculiarsmells in the environment will slowly penetrate into the package and causepeculiar smells in the food.
3) Poor sealingperformance - poor sealing performance at the sealing site caused by incorrectheat sealing parameters will result in the peculiar smells entering the packagethrough the sealing site.
4) Inferior physicaland mechanical properties - such as packaging materials are weak to punctures;or pinholes, creases, and damages on the packaging materials due to the kneadingor squeezing during production and storage. If the damages were not discoveredin time, the food may come into contact with the smells in the environment.
